April 27-29, 2018

Head to The Dalles for the 39th Annual Northwest Cherry Festival. A longtime favorite among locals and visitors alike, the festival is set in the spectacular Columbia River Gorge and showcases The Dalles’ deep agricultural heritage and Western roots. The Cherry Festival in 2015 expanded to three days of family-friendly activities and events, and 2018 is going to be even better! The Northwest Cherry Festival takes place in downtown The Dalles from Friday, April 27 through Sunday, April 29, 2018. The Festival includes the Gorge’s largest parade, classic car show, a 10k race, and lots of great local music and bands. There’s also cherry sampling with the Oregon Cherry Growers, craft vendors, agriculture job fair, Cherry Idol, and Carnival. You don’t want to miss the crowning of Cherry Festival Royalty at Mid-Columbia Senior Center’s Breakfast Saturday Morning before the parade! The Dalles has much more to offer though the festival alone could keep you busy.

If you are a Vendor and would like to participate in the 39th Annual Cherry Festival or you would like an entry in the Parade, please contact Camille Terry, [email protected] or call 541-296-2231.

Faraones del Norte are an International Norteño Band from Mexico, now based in the Yakima Valley. Moving from Mexico to the USA and making it their home base, they changed their name to Faraones del Norte USA. Norteño Bands are made up of an Accordion, Twelve string guitar, Electric bass guitar, Acoustic drums and Saxophone. The last two years the Band has toured extensively throughout Mexico, USA and Canada promoting their self titled CD “Faraones del Norte USA”. The song ( De Parranda ) has climbed to # 2 on the radio charts. The group puts on a very entertaining show that will leave you wanting more.

Rafaga de Tierra Caliente is an up and coming Ranchera Band from Sacramento California that is rapidly becoming a fan favorite. They have been traveling with Faraones del Norte USA as an opening act. They are currently working on their first CD, soon to be released.

Freddy Y Sus Teclados is a singer song writer, keyboard player from Mexico that moved to The Dalles Oregon over twenty five years ago. He has played in many bands and produce two of his own Bands. In 2015 he was in an accident where he lost his right arm. He almost gave up his love for music and playing the keyboard. But through the encouragement of his physical therapist that happened to be a musician himself, family and friends, he taught himself to play with his left hand and with a special keyboard using his feet, he continued playing and writing songs. In late 2017, he recorded an EP with three original songs that is receiving air play on local radio stations. He is truly an inspiration that you can overcome a tragedy.

This will be his first public performance since his accident.
