It is finally starting to feel like summer! The Dalles is alive with people, and it looks like it is going to be a busy summer. I encourage you to support local this summer whether that may be attending The Dalles Farmers’ Market to support local artisans and producers. Or heading downtown to 1st Friday on June 3rd. Downtown The Dalles will be alive after five with over 30 businesses opening their doors. The theme this month is “Hello Summer”. Businesses will highlight their favorite parts of summer with chalk art, live music, food specials, and more.

I invite you to attend Power Breakfast, Friday, June 3rd from 7:00 to 8:00 am. This month we will be featuring Speed Networking. Spend the morning connecting with other local business people to promote your business or organization. You can sign up at or by calling the office at 541-296-2231. You don’t want to miss this great opportunity to connect and spread the word about your products and services.

It is time for board nominations! The Dalles Chamber needs to hear from you. You can see all the nominees that made the ballot on pages 12 and 13 of this newsletter. We had an overwhelming response, and we are so appreciative of everyone who put their name in the hat and was willing to take on the demands of being part of our Board of Directors. Be watching for your ballot in the mail.

You don’t want to miss Business After Hours this month! On June 16th we will be at National Neon Sign Museum as they host alongside Northwest Muralfest and The Dalles Main Street. They will be revealing the mural artwork of the 15 murals for their upcoming event in August. Join us for appetizers, light refreshments, live music, and a historical scavenger hunt. It is going to be a whole lot of fun!

Be sure to add Power Breakfast, Government Affairs, Wired with the Chamber, Coffee Connections, and Business After Hours to your calendar. These events are great ways to network, get your name out to the community and build strong partnerships.

Make it a great month and support local every chance you get!
